“Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign. But stories can also be used to empower, and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity.” ― Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

ABOUT US

THE BLACK NARRATIVE

Our aim is to give a voice to young black people where they wouldnt usually have one; allow their voices to be heard in a society which too often stifles that voice, and allow them to share their story, their experience of blackness to make the point that our community is a very diverse and complex one. Despite being united by our blackness, we have had different journeys, different experiences and this varying knowlegde is what enriches our community further.

We interview young black people from all over the UK, and hear their story. This website is the documentation of that journey. We hope to continue this journey to hear the stories of young black people from all over the world.
