“Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign. But stories can also be used to empower, and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity.” ― Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

THE FOUNDER

My name is Keziah Doudy-Yepmo and I am the creator and founder of The Black Narrative project.

I am 19 years old, live in London, but originate from Cameroon and Congo. I am fluent in French and able to speak a little bit of Spanish. Currently, I study BA Geography at the University of Manchester. My passions lie in issues affecting young black people, feminism, and music.

This project was inspired from my frustration regarding the constant negative stereotypes towards young black people perpetuated by the mainstream media, and attempts to justify violence against black people by bringing up negative aspects of their past. These issues have been persistent for years and I feel haven't really been addressed.

The purpose of this  project is to respond to that.
